Toddler learning crafts are a amusing and "crafty" way you could teach them new things. Kids crafts could cover fundamental learning like colors, shapes, the five senses and more. You could also have amusing learning about animals, flowers and trees, the 4 seasons and more. The concepts are limitless when it comes to learning and having fun. A lot of items your children make can even be used for additional toddler activities that further enhance their minds and the knowledge they absorb. Take for example a simple craft concept like making binoculars.
This could be created with simple cardboard tubes like a toilet paper roll. This will reveal them all about the circle shape. Let them decorate it with a lot of colors so that they also are introduced to the different colors. When they are finished with their binoculars they could take them outside and see the world through their new binoculars. This supports them study all about the sense of sight. So with one simple, cheap and easy project they are learning a lot of different basic skills.
The learning concepts do not stop with only this simple idea. Try creating a lot of different animal crafts and talk about each one. They could study about where animals come from, what color they are and what shape they look like. They could even create masks of their favorite animal and pretend to be a lion or elephant or even a cute kitten. Schedule a vacation to the zoo as an additional activity and have them identify the different animals they know and recognize.
Maybe some flowers for a crafty concept for spring or summer. Or a snowman or sled for winters. You could even have them create a wreath with fall leafs or a scarecrow. All these concepts are an exciting way for toddlers to understand the different seasons and the colors with each season. Calendars always create an amusing craft at the beginning of each year. Your child could mark important days, like their birthday, as well as the first day of each season. Let them ornament it with pictures and colors of each season. Do not fail to remember to let them mark the holidays as well and plan for some holiday crafting time with your children.
Holidays make the ideal time to present new toddler crafts and new knowledge. As you create your Christmas gifts or ornaments, add an activity or story reading time to help your little ones understand the meaning or Christmas. Having an amusing activity scheduled in addition to the crafts makes for great family time and learning for the kids. So when your children are creating their stuffed paper bag turkey, have them tell you what they know of the Pilgrims and the "First Thanksgiving". Tell them some history of your Thanksgiving growing up and what customs your family had. Search for coloring pages, worksheets and other fun activities to keep them affected and the knowledge pouring in.
